EduSport Tennis Academy
What is different about Edusport?
As our name implies, EduSport combines Sports and Education and our tag line “Where Sports Meets Education” is embedded in everything we do. We firmly believe that learning any sport involves an education component and our program involves transferring this knowhow in every step of the teaching.
We approach the learning journey of tennis the same way a tree sapling is cared for and nurtured, to grow into a tree. The five key elements of Tennis player development that comprises the Physical, Technical, Mental, Tactical and the Value System aspects are what goes into our philosophy.
Our Core Values of Passion. Commitment. Results. sum up our approach to coaching. We will strive hard to bring out the passion in you, you give us your commitment and together we can achieve results. We will strive to provide the best possible tennis training and environment and make learning not only fun but impart some useful life lessons through experiential learning. We want our players to keep coming back and be our ambassadors.
.
What will I see that is different?
First and foremost is our personal touch and reachability. We strive to be responsive in our communication and get back to you within a reasonable period of time for all your queries. Our coaches endeavour to keep a close track of all players under their tutelage and provide valuable feedback on all aspects of the game at regular intervals. Successful outcomes are a result of a fruitful partnership and a tripartite collaboration of the Coach-Player-Parent. We will share progress reports of your child twice a year for those that enrol in our year-long programs.
We welcome feedback and are more than happy to listen to you all on how we can better ourselves and improve further.
Is there an age requirement for my child to join?
There is no age requirement as such, though we feel a child is ready from age 4 onwards. No prior experience is required! We welcome all kids who wish to join our EduSport family. All new players will be assessed by our coaches and allocated to groups that best fits their profile..
What are some pre-requisites and what should my child bring?
We would like to have a seamless training experience and this means early arrival and enough preparation time. Our coaches always arrive around 15 minutes before the start of each training session to set up the court.
We encourage your child to arrive at least 10 minutes and be ready for training, mingle with their friends and teammates get ready for the fun.
As for the kit that your child should bring – be dressed in comfortable sporting clothes (t-shirt and shorts), tennis shoes, socks, face towel and a tennis racket. Your child should also have a full bottle of water and some snack bar (if necessary) to be kept on the court side for hydration whenever necessary.
What if my child wants to train more than once a week?
We believe that training multiple times a week will definitely accelerate a player’s development. We will be glad to discuss several options based on your child’s weekly availability and our own internal schedule.
Are individual training sessions available for a child?
We do not recommend individual training sessions for kids that are just beginning to learn the game. Group training is very effective and the kids learn and perform better in a group. However, if the child has reached a certain proficiency, we can consider individual training sessions. We can consider a special arrangement if the child is preparing for a competition and requires dedicated training and preparation.
Can my child come for any of the training sessions or should I send my child only to the particular training session each week?
Your child is assigned to a particular training session with children of similar abilities and competencies. The coach and the coordinating team are responsible for maintaining a set schedule. As a tennis academy, our commitment is the same for every child and this means that there are limited and fixed spaces allocated to each player every week.
It is recommended that the child follows the allocated training session and stay within the group assigned.
What happens if my child misses a training session?
If your child misses training because of sickness and if you can produce a valid MC, we will not charge for the lesson. If a child misses due to other reasons, there will be no make-up session and the class will be charged. If the child is unable to join due to sickness, please message the coordinator at-least a day in advance so classes will not be charged.
Does EduSport Tennis Academy help a child to take part in competitions?
We believe that playing against other players of similar levels or higher will significantly aid a child’s tennis development and as such, we will provide opportunities for players to take part in competitive and friendly matches that are deemed by our coaches to be suitable for their abilities and development.
Are family members allowed on the tennis courts?
As stated earlier the Tripartite collaboration and partnership involving the Coach-Player-Parent is very important and an integral part of the player's and child's development. Players and coaches need to build a communication bridge in relation to the player's development. Family members are not allowed to enter the tennis courts during the training session. They are however encouraged to sit outside and view the training session
What are the rules for adult classes?
We offer adult training sessions as group lessons as well as individual classes. Please get in touch with us for more details.
What is your pricing plan and how are they computed?
All our training programmes are organised on a term basis and our fees are adjusted accordingly each term.
Each session is typically 10 classes and you are encouraged to buy the package for the full 10 lessons. The package price for 10 lessons are also cheaper than for individual classes. If a person wants to join after a term has started, the full fee is still payable.
We spend a considerable amount of time in putting together a coaching team and other resources and we seek your understanding in paying for the full package.
Can I buy a part of the package?
If you anticipate that your child will be able to attend only 50% of the scheduled classes, we will allow the purchase of a package for 5 lessons.
We have devised this arrangement to allow your child to continue to enjoy training with us and revert back to the full sessions at the earliest.
What are the payment options?

What happens if it rains?
Kids group class If the weather forecast indicates that it will rain at the stated time of the class, please check for updates from the coach / coordinator to confirm that the class is cancelled. It can so happen, that it rains in some parts of Singapore and not at our courts and vice versa. In case of cancellation by us, we will not charge for the class and will be rescheduled for a later date. If the class has started and it starts raining, the following conditions will apply. If the class has been half way through (30 mins in a 1hour class, 45 minutes in a 90 minute class), we will proceed to the sheltered area of our facility and focus on the physical condition and other strength training exercises for the rest of the class duration and this will be counted as a complete class. If the class is less than the half way mark, the class will be abandoned and players will not be charged. Our methodology not only focusses on technical abilities, but has a strong emphasis on cross training involving physical conditioning, running, statics, body weight and mental strength. In order to improve one’s tennis game, it is important to work on cross training.
How will we proceed in case of accident/injury?
In case of emergency (serious accident or injury), we will first call the emergency hotline to request for an ambulance to transfer the injured player to the nearest hospital (as determined by the paramedics). We will then next call the primary contact of the injured player (usually the parent who fills in the registration form), failing which we will call the emergency contact stated in the registration form. A member of the EduSport team will stay with the injured player until the arrival of the player’s primary/emergency contact.
If it is not an emergency, we will call the primary contact of the injured player, failing which the emergency contact, to inform about the incident and discuss the next course of action.
